Baccarat

Baccarat is s straightforward game that has been played around the world for ages. It is one of the most popular games in most online casinos.

To win at Baccarat, players have to bet on the hand that they think will result in total points closest to nine.  Baccarat card values are – all aces count as one, all cards from two to nine are valued at what they carry, all face cards and tens are counted as zero. The number of card decks used can vary from one to eight. At most casinos there is also the option of playing baccarat for free or for real money.

Playing Baccarat

Any combination that results in more than nine has ten subtracted from it. For example, eight and three totalling to eleven would count as just one. A hand that totals to just nine is the perfect hand; the next best is one that totals to eight. In baccarat these two hands are called ‘natural’.

Online baccarat payouts

The payout is 1 to 1 for bets placed on the house winning and a player winning the hand. The payout is 8 to 1 for players who bet on a tie. The minimum bet amount for baccarat games at most online casinos is £1 and maximum is usually £500.

Baccarat Table Layout

The baccarat table consists of the following – Croupier or the caller, Dealer 1, Dealer 2, Drop box, discard trays and tips box.

After the bets are placed the dealer deals out the four cards if it is just the house and one player. Two cards are for the house and two for the player. If either of the hands results in a natural no further hands are dealt. If both the hands are the same it results in a tie. If initially dealt out cards do not result in a natural then another card will be dealt.

However there are specific rules as to when cards maybe dealt and when they may not be. Some of the scenarios are – If the players hand totals to six or more then additional cards are not dealt. A hand resulting in 5 or less will be given an additional card. If the house hand adds up to seven or more it must stand. House gets an additional hand if the initial hand totals to 0, 1 or 2.
