Blackjack Tournaments
Tournaments are a great way to learn from other players and to win nice prizes without risking much money. Not many online casinos offer tournaments which is perhaps not too surprising since the casino does make more money when you lose a lot of wagers than when you play in a tournament where all you can lose is your entry fee.
Where to Play in Blackjack Tournaments
Online casinos with games from Microgaming offer scheduled and sit & go blackjack tournaments just about every day. Tournaments are played following European Blackjack rules. Our favourite Microgaming casinos are Ladbrokes Casino and InterCasino.
Party Casino doesn't schedule tournaments but there are plenty of Sit & Go tournaments to choose from every day. The buy in, or entry fee, is either $3 or $6. The prize depends on the number of players at the table. Tables seat either 2 or 5 players -- these aren't huge tournaments so prizes aren't as high as in some tournaments.
Big Win, Low Risk
One of the great things about tournaments is that you can win a nice prize without risking much money. All tournament players pay the same entry fee and are given the same number of chips to play. The most you can lose is your entry fee, which can be as low as $5 – or even free – yet you can win cash prizes ranging from $25 to $500. A tournament's prize pool depends on the number of players involved and the amount of their entry fee. If you want to play for bigger prizes, look at tournaments with higher entry fees.
Improve Your Skills
When you enter a tournament you’ll be playing against players of all skill levels. Watching more experienced Blackjack players can be a great learning experience!
Sit & Go vs Scheduled Tournaments
Some tournaments are scheduled meaning that all tournament players logon and play at the same designated time. You won’t waste any time waiting for a tournament to begin but you may have to come back later if no tournaments are scheduled too begin when you arrive.
Sit & Go tournaments begin whenever all seats at the table are taken. The tournament schedule in the casino lobby will show tables that are waiting for enough players to begin so just join one of those and wait with the other players for a few minutes until the game begins.
