Playing Aces and Faces Video Poker
Aces and Faces is a fun filled action packed poker game that has proven to be popular with all players regardless of skill. The screen layout is simple, and the cards have large faces making them easily readable. This game is a good starting point to learn the nuances of poker. The objective of the game is for the player to hold a five card winning combination. The payout table indicates the amount awarded for the different winning combinations, the highest payout being for a Royal Flush. The difference between Aces and Faces and regular Video Poker is that Aces and Faces has a high payout for four-of-a-kind Aces and four-of-a-kind Face cards (Jack, King and Queen). Apart from this minor difference, Aces and Faces is a straightforward Video Poker Game.
The minimum bet allowed is $0.25 and the player can bet a maximum of $25 per game. Once the player chooses the wager, the computer deals a set of five cards. The player decides which of the five cards to hold, and discards the rest. Up to five discards are allowed per deal. The computer then reshuffles the deck, and replaces the discarded cards so that the player is in possession of five cards. The computer then checks the player’s current hand for a winning combination. If in possession of a winning combination, the player can choose to either keep the payout or double it.
The double option is a game of ‘Highest Card Wins’. The computer deals out a set of four cards face down and one dealer’s card face up. The player selects one of the four face down cards, and this card’s value is compared to the dealer’s card. If the player holds a higher card, the winnings are doubled. If the dealer’s card is higher, the player loses the winnings. If the two cards are equal, then the feature is replayed until a winner is chosen. The player has the added option of choosing the “Half Double” where half the payout is gambled, and the player keeps the remaining.
