The game is very simple, and its objective is to make a winning combination from the five-card deal. The difference between Tens or Better Video Poker and Jacks or Better Video Poker is that the minimum winning hand is a pair of tens or better. This difference gives the game its name.

You're allowed to place a bet between one and five coins per deal. The denomination of the coins depends on the machine you choose. Once the bet is wagered, the computer deals a set of five cards. You then chooses up to five cards as the discard. The computer then reshuffles the pack, and replaces the discarded cards with fresh cards. Your hand is then checked for a winning combination.
