Playing Three Card Poker

Three Card Poker can be played in three possible ways to play, and four ways of winning. You can choose to try and beat the dealer (ante and play), bet on the outcome of the hand (pair plus) or do both at the same time. The rules of the game are simple to master, however the game proves challenging even to the most experienced players, making it popular among experts and novices alike.

Pair plus is the easier of the two games. The player places a bet on the table before the deal. Once the cards have been dealt, if you hold a winning hand, the hand is checked against the pay-table to determine the payout. A winning hand is a Pair or better. Pair Plus also has higher odds of a payout. If you also placed an Ante bet, it is required that you also place a Play bet in order to qualify for a Pair Plus award, and if you fold during the Ante game, all Pair Plus rewards are nullified.

The Ante and Play game is a showdown between you and the dealer. You are required to post an Ante or starting bet, and the cards are dealt. Once the cards are checked, you can choose to place a higher bet. The hands are then compared, and the highest wins. In order to qualify for a hand, the dealer must hold at least one queen or higher, otherwise your bet is returned along with the ante (paid out 1:1). The player forfeits both the bet and the ante if the dealer’s hand wins, if the player’s hand wins, the bet and ante are paid out 1:1. In case of a tie, the player’s bet and ante are returned.

If the player places an ante before the cards are dealt, and places a bet before the dealer shows his hand, the player is eligible for the Ante Bonus award. If the player holds a winning hand, there is a payout which is made according to the Ante Bonus pay-table. The Ante Bonus payout is regardless of the dealer’s hand.
